Fear or faith? Both invisible. Which one do you choose? Because one would take you to a place of peace, calm, and knowing, and the other would take you to every disaster that you can ever imagine. But how often are we picking the one that benefits us?
Welcome back to Reconnect Her Fire. I'm Jo, Wealth and Identity Mentor and Coach for Female Founders, ready to rise to trust themselves again and become the very best version of themselves. And today I'm going to talk to you about.
Probably one of the most amazing, but also the basic foundations whenever we do transformational work, whenever we want to change, we want to up level, we want more money, we want a better life, we want to feel fulfillment, we're fed up with the current circumstances and the way life is repeating itself.
And until I understood this, nothing really changed because most of my life I've been led by fear.
By the worry, by high anxiety. In actual fact, my nervous system was probably living on a much higher level, and I wasn't even aware of. To me, it was normal. So I was magnetizing and attracting a similar frequency that was also showing to be hectic, to be out of control, to feel.
That actually I couldn't be the version of me that I would want to be because everything was appearing to be on high alert. I often found partners and relationships that were turmoil, toxic. They were out of control one minute. I didn't even know who the person was the next.
Actually, being unconsciously aware the whole time that I was the one giving off and still living on that high anxiety myself. Because fear to me was just part of my daily life. My thoughts were never that great. I never thought of things that would benefit me more. I allowed the fear to run riot, to create outcomes that were complete.
Disasters and I wonder why that's all I ever saw. I had beliefs that limited my success, that limited my ability to show up in the world. I hid. I kept small, I purposely kept small all the time, not even understanding why.
I could see everybody else grow. I could see everybody else create fantastic success and wealth. But I always stayed and found myself in roles that limited my success, my wealth, and my outcomes. And nine times out of ten, I was leading with fear. I didn't realise what was going on. So when I ask today, do you truly understand? Are you leading with faith?
Or are you leading with fear? Now, the word faith really wasn't in my vocabulary until a few years ago. And once I started to really focus on what faith meant, how it could transform my life, why it's so powerful, I then realised I was the one making the choices.
for fear. I was the one allowing fear to take over. I was the one giving the power to fear. And the funny thing is, they're both invisible.
Because fear isn't an object, it's not something outside of you, is it? Fear is in your imagination. And you allow it to get big or small. It's up to you. And you know you can change that in moments when we do gratitude, we can flip fear and remove it because you can't have gratitude and be scared at the same time. So we do have a control over it, but as our minds are negative bias and are they our protectors, they're always looking
At the negative first to make sure it's safe. But if you allow the fear to ride over and you don't know how to put the brakes on, or you not even trusting yourself to look at a different direction, then no wonder faith isn't something that's in your vocabulary It wasn't in mine. So what I'm going to do today is I'm just going to ask you some really simple questions and just let them.
come up, whatever answers you get, they're right. Don't try to force them, don't try to make up different ones time and time again. Whatever comes up for you will be perfectly right. Because when was the last time that you lent into faith?
And what do you currently have faith in?
If some of those answers are coming up, well, nothing, or I don't know. I'm gonna tell you different. You have faith in a lot. And let me give you examples. You have faith you're gonna get up in the morning, that you're gonna stand up and get on with the day. You have faith that the sun's gonna come up and the moon's gonna come up, and you're gonna have faith that you can go to bed at some point, even if it's not the regular hours of the rest of the people. But you have faith in so many more things.
If you order a pizza, you have faith it's going to show up. If you order on Amazon, you have faith that a delivery driver will bring it to you sooner than later. So why aren't we using faith for the things actually that would bring us joy, that would bring us peace of mind, that would bring us happiness, that would bring us more money, more success, more freedom? Why aren't we using it for those?
Because realistically, no one's actually shown us and taught them. It wasn't really done through school. If religious sectors taught faith, those children would probably understand it more. But I wasn't brought up with the church. I wasn't brought up with a religion. faith was something that
You heard of, but you didn't actually lean and understand truly its power. Because when you do, when you grasp what faith does for you, you can let go and let faith rule your life, or you can hold on to fear and let fear rule your life. And once you can balance them and actually use them for both what they are for.
You can live quite a peaceful mindset, and you can start taking the bold action steps without so much of the fear and far more of the faith, knowing and trusting yourself that you've managed to survive until now. You always have what you need, you're grateful for what's coming and what you've got. So, why wouldn't you have the faith that you can continue this path?
Because you've probably allowed the fear to grasp more. You've held on to the fear because that's what feels familiar, that's what's comfortable. Whereas when you start to work with faith, you'll tend to lean into the faith first.
And that's where you find the solutions. That's where you don't go into the worry pit. You're not looking for problems when you've got faith. You trust you know the solution, and you'll do something to go and find that solution. And it won't be hectic and mad like fear would make you do. React immediately, panic, go into a frenzy. Let the nervous system rule you.
Faith doesn't work like that. Faith asks that you slow down, that you take time out, that you actually quieten yourself down. You're not reactive, you're responding. That's the difference.
Faith will ask you to respond in a way that actually makes you feel less likely to be the reactive version that fear leads you to. So when you've got the balance and when you fully start practicing with faith, you start to notice how you don't react to the world so much, how you don't
Actually, step out and fear what you're currently seeing, but have faith that what you're working towards, what your business is bringing you, is on its way. It might not show itself today, but if you're showing up doing the action steps, you can put fear down. You don't have to let fear step in. Because what does fear bring? Fear's great to start with, it will show you what you need to lean into.
It's the magnetic gate that's bullying you. But if you can fully appreciate it, I use fear and I go, Great, that's what I need to lean into, but I'm not going to let you lead. I'm not going to let you take over. I'm not going to lean into you. I'm going to trust and have the faith that I know how to do that, thanks. But it takes practice.
For most of my life, I led with fear. I was reactive. I would lose it with things and people because I couldn't actually understand why my emotions were triggered in such a rapid and responsive way. Where now I go, hold on, deep breathe, step back. Don't need to react. I can respond and I can be calm.
And I'm not the one then losing it. And I'm consciously aware of how to find a solution to these problems. But so often we lean in, don't we, and let fear just bulldoze us out the way. So what could you do today differently that you would like to feel
a more responsive version of you that could see solutions instead of just seeing the walls and the bricks and the reasons you can't do something, but actually understand there is always, always a solution to any problem.
The whole point of the problem is for you to solve it so you grow, so you can actually develop and bring in what it is that you're asking for. So next time that you have those moments where your mind is racing with all the negative thoughts, it's bringing up all the disasters that could possibly happen, which you know nine times out of ten they don't, and then
Ask yourself if I had faith here instead, what could I trust myself to do now? What would be the best thing that I know I can do for myself in this moment? Which will let go of the fear. That's the kind of things you're going to be repeating to yourself over and over until you'll start to feel that faith is actually leading.
Faith is something you can't see, but nor can you see fear. But you get a choice because they use the same amount of energy up. And as we are energy beings, having this human experience, and we've got the same amount of energy every day to use or not use.
Why would you lean into the fear when you could use this same energy to lean into the faith? Now there are some amazing opportunities that suddenly come into your view when you start to believe in faith more than you believe currently in fear. But it's a choice. It's always your choice. In any given moment, your reactive state is your choice.
And it might not feel like that at the moment, but it truly is. The more I work with faith, the more my mind is at peace, the more solutions I see, the more reasons I need to keep pushing through.
And it also the fear will be there, but I don't let it lead. I look at it like a doorway and say, Great, that's where I need to head. The thing that scares me the most is what I need to push through. Great. But I don't allow fear then to keep me in that state of procrastination, of feeling stuck or feeling vulnerable or not.
Allowing myself to fully be seen, to fully express myself and step out of that comfort zone. Because I trust and have more faith that I am fully supported in whatever I'm doing. I am guided. I know this. I feel it. I sense it. And above all, we all are.
You don't have to believe in it, but if you allow yourself to have that faith to say that universe, that God is here with me, holding, helping me.
You don't feel so alone, you don't feel like you're doing it all by yourself, and you'll get the feelings of you are supported because you truly were the whole time. So many times I hear women say, I'm fed up struggling on my own, running a business. It's excessively hard with a family, with all the other commitments, and then I want to reach out and just say, Hold on, you're not doing this alone, you are supported.
now start leaning in to what that would look like for you. When I first understood what faith meant,
That it was God, that it was universe, that there is an outside source. It didn't surprise me. After my awakening five years ago, and I was guided to read all these wonderful books, there was definitely something inside of me, outside of me, that was giving me clear instructions. And every single time I jumped.
I trusted myself more, the results got bigger, and they led me to everything that I was dreaming of, that I wanted, that I've made me feel good, I could trust it, but most of all I could trust myself. And that's the faith that you build up step by step doing this work.
And even now I sit back and go, my gosh, what would I done without that faith? If I didn't lean into faith now, where would I be? Probably in a ball. Heap. crying my eyes out, worried about everything, thinking what I'm doing is mad. But faith doesn't stand like that. Faith stands with a a gentleness, a loving knowing that.
Whatever you do, you can't fail because you're not giving up. And you're creating exactly and you're living the life that you dreamed of a few years ago. And I remind myself every day how fortunate am I to be able to have this position? How fortunate am I to be able to stand here and say this and sit here and actually enjoy and reap the rewards of everything that you've done.
All because I led with faith. And I allowed faith to lead me more than I have allowed fear. So if you could juggle them both, what one would you put down?
So visualise it next time. When you become frantic, when you become overwhelmed, when things don't appear to be going the way that you want, you'll probably hear more negative thoughts. If you can't shut the negative thoughts down, just ask and imagine. If I'm juggling fear and faith, what one's better for me now? And if faith is where I want to be.
What would be the ideal solution right now for me to do? Maybe it's go outside and just calm down for five minutes. Maybe it's remove myself from that situation. Maybe it's looking at a different angle. Maybe it's not relying on everybody else to give me the advice, but for me to quiet down, go and sit down, close my eyes, and go back inwards to who you are to reconnect to the version of you.
Because you've got all the answers. You have universal connection to all the answers through your consciousness. But if you don't trust yourself,
And you don't have faith or hope that it could happen, and your beliefs are still running your daily life, bringing you outcomes that you don't really want anymore. Then maybe it's time to get that support. Maybe it's time to make a change. Maybe it's time to look into what it is that you do want and start to believe in you, in the amazing version of you that you are now.
We often hear the word future self, don't we? Well, that kind of puts yourself out of reach, doesn't it? So why not just say the grandest version of you? The best version of you? Because you're here already. You're not gonna change. All you're gonna do is energetically shift levels and feel more confident.
Feel more like yourself, feel more in control of who you are and what you're doing, and you'll become less reactive to everybody else, what's going on around you, the outcomes that you're currently not seeing but wishing for, you can start to have the faith that they're on their way. Have you ever been let down before? And if you felt let down before, be honest. Did you get a better outcome afterwards?
Maybe it was a lesson. We've all had them. We've all had to go through extremely painful lessons in relationships, whether that's with people, with work, with family, because sometimes we refuse to see the truth, and until things happen, we get shook up, don't we? And we have to make a decision. And often it's because we're being brought to our knees. Faith is the one word the
Power, the connection to what it is that will help you let go of the fear, let go of the things that you don't want more of in your life. So if you like this video, please press the like button. Let others experience this.
Because everybody deserves to have more faith than they do fear. And there is no reason why everyone is walking around believing they're not worthy of the wealth, of the success, of the joy, of the happiness, when actually it's just everybody's own choice not to have it or to have it. But we're not taught this, we're not shown this. But until next time, with love and gratitude.
